FIRE IN TIMBER YARD.
DAMAGE NOT EXTENSIVE,
{Pm Uhited Paaas Assoai&TibK.) MASTERTON, December 6. A fire in the incipient stages was discovered in the timber yards of C. E. Danlell at 10.30 to-night. It had a- good hold In a stack of dry Oregon, and was not extinguished till £350 worth had been destroyed. Fortunately there was no wind, or the destruction of £14,0Q0 worth of adjacent timber was inevitable. The water pressure was totally inadequate to haadte the conflagration had it spread. The timbre was insured for £4OOO. • i
