AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
OTAGO' CENTRE MEETING. A meeting of the delegatee to the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association -was held in the Y.M.C.A. last night, Mr E. L, Macassey (president) occupying the chair. The Secretary of the Invercargill. Amateur Athletic, .Club wrote forwarding the ..names of . the Office-bearers , for the forth-coming season. The club was making strenuous efforts to increase its membership, : and’ thus, place the sport on a more substantial footing, —The letter was received. Mr J. Taylor (Wellington) wrote thanking the centre for his appointment as its representative on the New Zealand Council. ‘ Mr Taylor also reported on the annual meeting of the- council. —The letter was received. Mr O. C. Mazengarb, the centre's representative on the New Zealand Council, wrote forwarding reports on the last monthly and annual meetings of the council.—The letteia were received. The Secretary reported that,the recent art union conducted by the centre had resulted in a, profit of £l2O Os Bd. It was decided to hold the New Zealand championship meeting at the Caledonian Ground on January 36, 1924, subject to the approval of the New Zealand, Council. Messrs H. J. M'Kenzie, R. Thompson, and G. j... Luckhurst were appointed the Otago Centre’s Selection Committee. Accounts amounting to £4O, 9s were passed for payment.
