CHRISTCHURCH, November 15. “Phil” O’Shea, the cycle racing champion of New Zealand and Australia, returned this morning from Australia after securing the fastest time from scratch on the third successive occasion in the Warrnamhool-Mel-bourne (165 miles) race. O’Shea stated to an interviewer that he has now definitely retired from big road racing, and has ridden his last race in the Timaru-Christchurch and Warrnambool Melbourne races. He will ] probably now act as coach to young riders I and take part in a few small events. He j was looking very fit, and stated that he had never f eH better in his life. BOXING.
