THE ULIAIAR-OA. The Uliraaroa arrived at Sydney early on Tuesday morning from Auckland. The vessel is to leave Sydney to-day, and wall arrive at Wellington on Wednesday. THE TREFUSIS. The Trefusis, of the Main Line, from Montreal, arrived at Sydney (Nova Scotia) on October 29, and is due at Auckland about the middle of December. She will call at soutliern ports after leaving Auckland. TREGENNA FROM NEW YORK. The Hain Line steamer Tregenna, from New York, via Panama, reached Auckland on Monday night, where she discharged a quantity of general cargo, including automobiles and case oil for Auckland. The Tregenna left New York on September 29, and Panama was cleared on October 8, a fine run in perfect weather being experienced across the pacific to Auckland. Captain R. Harvey is in command. The vessel will sail at the end of the week to complete discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. THE WEST NILUS. The American steamer West Nilus was due to Jeave San Francisco for Auckland on October 31. It was expected, however, that her departure might be delayed a day or ,two. She is to call at Honolulu, and is due at Auckland about the end of this month. Her cargo includes 22,000 cases of gasoline and 160,000 ft of timber. After discharge at Auckland she will go to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Melbourne. THE R.M.S.P. MOTOR LINERS. The keel of the second of the 20,000-ton motor liners ordered from Messrs Harland and Wolff by the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company has just been laid in the firm's new yard at Belfast. The vessels will be about 630 fl long, hut their construction will not be accelerated until the exact type of engine is decided upon by fhe owners. TOFUA FROM WESTERN PACIFIC. The Union Company's passenger steamer Tofua arrived at Auckland on Monday afternoon from Suva. The vessel carried 59 passengers, and included in the 17 steerage there were seven Chinese. The Tofua left Suva on October 31, and on the run across to Auckland fine weather was met with. The Tofua. will sail for the Island on Monday morning. OIL IN NAVIGABLE IV ATE lIS, In accordance with their decision some time ago, the Clyde Navigation Trustees are carrying out plans for the installation on the river of an oil-separator barge into which all oily water from ships at the port or elsewhere in the estuary will be discharged. They have acquired the steam tug Plover, of 155 tons gross, from Messrs Steel and Bennie (Ltd.), of Glasgow, and this vessel is to be fitted on the Clyde by Smith’s Dock Company, of North Shields, with their oilseparating appliances. Her propelling machinery will be retained, so that she can go to a vessel anywhere in Clyde waters, and lie alongside as long as may be necessary. The residue of oil left after the water has been extracted will be disposed of for industrial purposes. When the Plover is in commission in her new capacity vessels using oil will not require to go outside the Clyde three-mile limit when their tanks require cleaning. REAIUKRA TO LOAD. Several well-known vessels have changed hands during the last few days (says the Sydney Daily Guardian, of October 27). Another British India liner has changed hands. This is the steamer Bulna, well known in these waters. She is a vessel of 6152 tons, and has been acquired by Japanese. For several months the 8.1.5. N. Company have been disposing of several of their older liners, most of them finding new owners in Japan. The Bulna was launched in 1907 at Dumbarton. News from England announces the salc\of the old Australian and New Zealand trader Alanapourr. She was built at Dumbarton in 1881, and for many years flew the flag of the Union Steam Ship Company. She was known in nearly all the services maintained by the company. Later she was sold to Moller and Co., of Shanghai, and re-named Lindsay Moller. Under this name she has made one or two trips to Australia from Hongkong. -She has now' been sold for about, 36,000 dollars, Hongkong currency. A well-known American wind-jammer, the four-masted schooner Mindoro, which was m Sydney about two yfars ago, has also been Sold. She sprang a leak while on a voyage to Adelaide with a full cargo of lumber, and put in to Sydney in distress. Her new owner is Mr J. P. Peterson, of San Francisco, who purchased her from Mr W. S. Scammell, of the same port. The Mindoro is u vessel of 642 tons register.
