METROPOLITAN TROTS. WILD THYME IVINS COURTNEY HANDICAP. (From Our Special Reporter.) CHRIbICHITICH, .November 8. The Addington meeting was continued iu the nrsl realty line nay ot lae Carnival Av eeK, anu me attendance ranked as rather good ior an on nay. me track was a bit loose on the suilace ana some ut the races were got off in uouus ot oust raised by the leaning division with, ot course, 1-ne disadvantage of the back markers. , Grand Denver, who was lavounte lor the Courtney Handicap, played up ut the t-tam and ins nad example was followed by blockade. Wild Thyme won well at me business end. another favourite in Ahuriri spoilt bis chance by swinging round at the start o. the Not ember Handicap, and Cold-water spoiled his chance by breaking when chasing Locanda Mac mlo the straight for the rim home. Oratorio also broke up when going well with the leaders in the early part of the race. Great interest was taken in the Free For All. Happy Voyage drew the rails ami next in order came Vilo, Onyx, Great Hope, Trix 1 I’ointer, and Logan Chief. Happy Voyage started _ a strong- favourite. They were in fair lino when sent away, bat T.og'an Chief and Trix Pointer did not get going so well as the others. Happy Voyage was well placed third on the rails as they came clown the running, but ho wag allowed to get boxed in by Logan Chief when the latter raced up at the fur turn. From that on the favourite’s chance was hopeless ns ho was penned in until Logan Chief went, on to beat Great Hope in the last half furlong. Logan Chief ran a great race after getting badly away, and also had the disadvantage of having to race with a knee boot flopping loose on his offside pastern. They were timed to go the first quarter in 32sec, the half-mile in Irnin ssec, and the full distune in 2min 7 3-ssec. Clonmel spoilt, a good chance in ihe Sorkburn Handicap by breaking twice aft®r getting in front and looking all over . a winner. Acron was made a hot favourite for the Royal Handicap and he won after getuing away badly, as did Alto Chimes. When Gleaming was passing the post Acron was still close on three parts of a furlong away, but be came with a phenomenal burst of speed over the last quarter, and although naturally tiring at the finish he beat. Don Wild by a neck, the pair just reaching Gleaming in the last couple of stridea. The great race run by Acron confirms ihe opinion that he should have won the Trotting Cup to-day. He ran his last mile in 2min 6 2-ssec. J. Smith, driver of Fancy Boy in the Metropolitan Handicap, was fined £lO for unduly flourishing his v.-hin. During (he day £55.095 went, into ihe totalisator as against £55.911 10s on the second day of Inst, year’s mealing. Results: Will TELE IGIT H A N I) IC A R.
