"This is a very serious time for Germany, which ig threatened with internal convulsions,” runs an appeal to the nation signed by Hen’ Ebert, who declares that sections of the community are profiting by the people’s distress and threaten to throw the torch of internecine warfare among the people. He urges the maintenance of unity in the Reich, and the upholding of law and order, and concludes: "The Reichwehr and the police will do their duty.”—Reuter. LOOTING IN BERLIN. BERLIN, November 6. (Received Nov. 7, at 11 p.m.) One thousand shops were looted and badly damaged in yesterday's outbreak. The stolen goods include 15.000 pairs of boots. The arrests number 129. LONDON, November 6 The Daily Chronicle’s Paris correspondent says: “Attention is now diverted from the reparations inquiry to events in Germany. Many here regard the military preparations in Berlin and Bavaria us camouflage, and as being a preliminary to a coup d’etat aimed at placing the whole of Germany under the dictatorship of Ludendorf, who will then prepare for revanche.”—A. and N.Z. (Received Nov. 7,- at 8.25 p.m.) The State Department considers the situation in Germany so grave that preparations are being made to extend voluntary aid to the German people in the coming winter such as was extended to the Russians. —A. and N.Z.
