(Pkb United Pbesp Association.) NAPIER, November 6. At the Magistrate’s Court a young man named Edgar Eddy pleaded guilty to a charge cf forgery, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence; His offence was sending to the Daily Telegraph newspaper a notice relating to the engagement between two young people, and in signing the name of one of the parties. GREYMOUTH. November 6. The police raided a billiard saloon owned by James Ilassall, who was arrested on a charge of keeping a common gaming house. John Cain was arrested and charged with assisting in the management. Both were admitted to bail. CHRISTCHURCH. November 6. The launch Celtic, which has been missing from Kaiapoi since Friday night, was found on the south spit at the mouth of the Waimakariri this mcming. There are- no signs of the men, Thompson and Cowper. who capsized on the bar while rowing out to recover the launch. WELLINGTON. November 6. The prosecution of two young men alleged to have been concerned in shortages in the Wellington Repatriation Office was advanced a stage further when charges against .Frank Victor Herbert Coull and Harry Patrick Hodgins were called at the Supreme Court. Mr P. S. Macassey applied. for a change of venue, in view of the fact that several trials had been held without agreements being reached by Wellington iuries. The proceedings were not open to the press. Sir John Findlay, K.C.. appeared in opposition to the application. After hearing the statements of the Crown Prosecutor and counsel, a change of venue was granted.
