At the municipal elections for .500 seats in 81 boroughs, the Conservatives lost Tf and the Liberals 24. Labour gained hi and the Independents four. Sir Reginald Plain, chairman of the National Union of Ratepayers, declares that Thursday’s municipal elections are tantamount to a severe defeat of Labour aspirations.
