TRUNK MOTOR ROAD

LONDON TO MANCHESTER, AUTOMATIC CONTROL. LONDON, October 19. loot'd Montagu of Beaulieu is the chairman of a new company, the object of which is to construct a trunk motor road from London to Manchester. The road will be 40ft wide, and will have four lines for through traffic—two on the inside for fast,-' and two on the outside for slow and heavy vehicles. Everything is in readiness to proceed with the scheme, which is waiting only for ‘the Government’s sanction and support. The scheme will do much to relieve unemployment. The road will be self-support-ing. Traffic at cross-roads will be controlled by automatic devices.
