Diphtheria: Otago 5, Wallace 1; total, 7. Tuberculosis; Waitaki 3, Otago 16, South Otago 2, Vincent 1, Maniototo 1, Southland 1; total, 24. . Acute primary pneumonia: Waitaki 4, Otago 3 South Otago 1, Southland 4; total, 12. Lethargic Encephalitis: Otago 1. Opthalmia neonatorum; Otago 1. Erysipelas: Otago 4. Poliomyelitis: Southland 1. Puerperal septicaemia : Otago 1. Cerebro spinal meningitis: Waitaki 1. Pneumonic influenza: Waitaki 1, Otago 2. Hydatids: Otago 1. Complete total, 65. The following deaths were reported by undertakers: — . Tubcrculof is: Waitaki 1, Otago 7, Vincent 1, Maniototo 1, Southland 2; total, 12. Cerebro-spinal meningitis: Waitaki 1. Acute primary pneumonia: Southland 1. Puerperal septicaemia: South Otago 1. Lethargic encephalitis; Otago 1. Pneumonic influenza: Waitaki 1. Total, 17. Complete total, 29. Jt will be seen that tuberculosis is by far the most prevalent disease, and has accounted for nearly half the deaths from infectious diseases.
