TWO BY-ELECTION RESULTS. SEATS RETAINED BY CONSERVATIVES. Association—By To’ograpb—Copyrisvn LONDON October 31. The by-election for Rutland and Stamford, which was vacant owing to the death of the sitting member, Mr C. n. Dixon (Conservative), resulted as follows: Mr N. W. Smith-Carrington (Conservative) 11,196 Mr Sells (Labour) 8.406 At the general election in November of last year the voting was as follows: Mr C. H. Dixon (Con.), 10,278; Mr F. Eccles (Lab.), 7236; Mr E. Clarke (Farmers’ Candidate), 4471. THE YEOVIL SEAT. LONDON, October 31. The by-election at Yeovil, owing to the death of Mr Audrey Herbert (Conservative), resulted; — Major G. F. Davies (Conservative) 13,205 Mr W. T. Kelly (Labour) 8,140 Lieutenant-colonel C. W. Cohan (Liberal) 7.024 —Reuter. At the general election Mr A. Herbert (Con.) polled 16,468 votes, and Mr W. T. Kelly (Lab.) 9661.
