REPARATION DELIVERIES.
OFFER BY- GERMAN MAGNATES. DEFINITE AGREEMENT PROBABLE. LONDON, November L (Received Nov. 1, at V. 45 p.m.) The Morning Post’s Paris correspondent says that Herr Stinnes, Herr Krupp, and others spent 12 hours on Tuesday conferring with the French representatives at Dusseldorf regarding the resumption of work in the Ruhr. The conference was continued on Wednesday, and it was expected that a full and complete settlement would be reached before the end of the day. It is understood that Herr Krupp and Herr Stinnes have undertaken to pay the whole of the coal duties which have been held back by them both before and since the Ruhr occupation, and to deliver in future 20 per cent, of their production of coal and coke on account of reparations. The agreements will cover 90 per cem. of the production which is controlled by private firms. 'The German State mines are already in French and Belgian hands. The developments are regarded here as evidence that the German industrial leaders have at last definitely surrendered. Herr Krupp on Wednesday presented himself at the gates of the Dusseldorf prison, his week’s provisional liberty having expired. “A further week s liberty was accorded him, and he drove away to join his fellow-magnates in the conference with the French authorities. —A. and N.Z.
