(Received Oct. 24, at 11.10 p.m.) The Economic Conference resolved — First, regarding the established practice not to discriminate between the flags of shipping in Empire ports there is an intention of departing therefrom as regards countries treating ocean-going shipping under the British flag on a footing of equality with their own shipping. Secondly, in the event of a foreign country _ attempting to discriminate against British shipping in future the Governments of the Empire shall consult together to seek the best means of meeting the situation. Two further resolutions favour continuing the Imperial Shipping Committee on an Imperial basis. A committee of the conference this afternoon discussed the mandates.
