What Auckland in effect says to America is, “W e will take your telescope, but if we have our way we will see that you are not allowed to show any goods in a New Zealand exhibition.” Hather a lop-sided arrangement do you not think, sir. from America's point ol view? And the strange thing about it is that the place.'where the Exhibition is to be held is the place that makes no objection to American exhibits, and is precisely the locality in which everyone thought up to the last moment that the telescope would be
