POET SUED FOR DIVORCE

MR JOHN DRINKWATER. LONDON, October 8. Mr John Drinkwater, the poet and dramatist, is being sued by his wife for divorce. He is not defending the petition. Mr Drinkwater, who was one of the cofounders of what is now the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, made a great success with his play, “Abraham Lincoln,” in London in 1920. He has written several plays in verse, and pi any literary studies and essays.
