EAST TAIERI.
-SOCIAL AND RECREATION CLUB. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the East Taieri Social and Recreation Club, the Rev. D. M'Cosh presiding. The secretary’s report showed that the . membership had increased considerably during the year, and the finances were in a healthy state. The Lawn Tennis Club had experienced a very successful season, and keen competition had been shown by members. The members of the committee expressed appreciation of the support accorded the club. The following office-bearers were elected: President, Mr J. S. Watt; captain, Mr D. B. Watt; vice-captains. Miss 'O. Kirk and Mr J. Williams; secretary and treasurer, Mr B. Stoddart; auditor, Mr T. Munro; committee—Misses Kirk, Bedford, a id Williams, and Messrs M'Cosh. Watt, and Bruce. The Rev. D. M'Cosh and Messrs W. Kirk and Win. Allan were elected vice-presidents. It was decided to make inquiries about new courts on a higher ground, and a eub♦ajuiaittce was,’ appointed to arrange a con:ert. The votes of thanks closed the meeting.
