TRAIN FATALITY.

(Peh United Peers Association.) OAMARU, October 22. The body of a. man, believed to be Hugh C. Ross, a returned soldier from Central Otago, was found near the railway line beside the Oamaru trotting course at 5.50 this evening. It is believed that deceased had been endeavouring to get on the train leaving the racecourse when he fell under the wheels. The body was badly mutilated and death apparently had been instantaneous.
