WAIHEMO COUNTY COUNCIL.
The monthly meeting of the Waihemo County Council was held at Palmerston on Saturday, and was attended by Crs G. Rosa (chairman), W. Ritchie, A. Murray, J. S. Miller, W. Freeland, F. M’Callum, G, Clark, H. O’Neill, and J. O’Connell. Hr John' Purvia (Stonebum) wrote repeating his request that, the Alexandra road be prepared.—Received ; the necessary repairs to be made. ' Hr F. Campbell (Dunback) wrote directing the ■ council’s attention to the state cf the Cosy Dell road, which had been damaged by the floods. —Received; the road to be repaired. . Heffernan Bros. (Moonlight) wrote pointing out the necessity of having something done to the road which leads down the Nenthorn Valley, particularly at the first bridge at the foot of M'Hao’a Hill, to protect it from floods. —Received; the road to be repaired. Mr F. W. Pile (Dunedin) wrote drawing attention to the state of the crossing in the river leading to his property, and asking that it be remedied. —Received; the road to be repaired. Advice was received from the Main Highways Board (Wellington), that the board hadfinally approved c{ the constitution of No. Itl highway districts, comprising the following counties: —Lake, Moniototo, Vincent, Waihemo, W-aikouaiti. —Received. The chair, man was appointed a member of the Highways District Council. Tho tender of W. Mitchoy (Moonlight! for breaking metal at Shark Hill quarry at 8s per yard was accepted. The tenders of W. M’Gregor for breaking metal at 8s 6d per yard at Berry’s claim, and of Jack and Shirley for carting metal to Goodwood Settlement road at 5s 3d per yard wore also accepted.
