-AN INTERESTING DECISION. Prto* Association —By Telegraph—Copynxe* LONDON, October 21. The King’s Bench has decided that wine cannot be sold in Britain as port unless it is produced in Portugal. A description such as Australian port is false under the Merchandise Marks Act. The matter arose out of f,a' suit by the wine merchants to present the sale of Spanish wine under the label of Tarragona port, declaring it to bo a contravention of the iinglo-Portuguese Treaty and the Merchandise Marks Act. The claim was upheld, the liord Chief Justice declaring that it was unarguable-—A, and N.Z. Cable.
