HIS AMERICAN VISIT. WREATH LAID ON LINCOLN’S TOMB. I'posa Aitooiatiaa—By Telegraph—Copyright NEW YORK, October 19. At Springfield (Illinois) Mr Lloyd George visited Lincoln’s old horn®. He said that Lincoln had been an inspiration to him since his boyhood. Later Mr Lloyd George stood bareheaded in the rain before the tomb, and laid on it a wreath inscribed : “To one of the world’s greatest men.” Mr Lloyd George has left for St. Louis; but he will not make a public appearance, as he is anxious to conserve his strength.— A and N.Z. Cable. INVITATION TO AUSTRALIA. UNABLE TO ACCEPT AT PRESENT. NEW YORK, October 20. (Received Oct. 21, at 5.5 p.m.) At St. Louis Mr D. Mackinnon (Commonwealth Commissioner in America), in a private interview with Mr Lloyd George, transmitted the invitation of the Lord Mayor of Sydney to visit Australia. Mr Lloyd George declared that ho was very keen to go, but he was unable to see his way clear to make the trip at present.— A. and N.Z. Cable. ,
