FUTURE OF TANGIER
ITALY AND THE CONFERENCE, EXCLUSION HOTLY RESENTED. Pr<M Association—By Telegraph—Copyriyct LONDON, October 18. The Milan correspondent of The Times reports that an inspired statement in the newspaper II Secolo announces that Signor Mussolini will insist on Italy being represented at the forthcoming Tangier Conference, to which representation she is entitled, he maintains, by justice and right. It is hoped that England and France will avoid giving the Italians another disappointment, which would be a source of bitterness and resentment. It is alleged that France is the principal opponent of Italian participation in the conference; whereas Spam is indifferent, and England, after first favouring Italy, is now wavering. Signor Mussolini will do his best, knowing'that Italy will not tolerate a compromise where its national dignity is concerned.—The Times.
