CARGILL ROAD WESLEY CHURCH.
About 139 members and adherents of the Cargill Road Wesley Church met last night, at the invitation of the circuit stewards, to consider the question of the ministerial appointment for next year. At the quarterly meeting last week the invitation to Mr Richards was sustained by a majority vote only, and tire officials desired the opinion of the members with a view to finding if the decision of that meeting was a true reflection of the wish of the congregation. The chair was taken by Mr J. B. Shacklock, who was supported by Mr W. H. Johnston, circuit steward. The Chairman, in introducing the business of the meeting, outlined briefly the Methodjst law and procedure in connection with the itinerary of ministers, and invited a unanimous vote of confidence in the Her-. H. L. Richards. Mr R. Farrant moved—“ That this meeting endorse the quarterly board’s invitation to Mr Richards to continue for a further term in the Cargill Road Church,” and this was seconded by Mr M'Lennan. Several speakers voiced their opinions, and the matter at issue was thoroughly ventilated. On being nut, the motion was carried by a good majority, a few refraining from voting. Mr S. F. Bridgman then moved that the meeting pledges its heartiest support to (he Rev. H. L. Richards in the event of conference appointing him for a further term. This was seconded by Mr A. T. M‘lndoe and carried unanimously.
