THE HOBBLE SKIRT
IT'S RETURN UNLIKELY. LONDON, September 22. Paul Poirot, the famous dress designer, asserts that the hobble skirt will not return. He is convinced that fashionable women value freedom of movement more than elegance attained by discomfort. London doctors unite in pointing out that the short dresses recently worn are highly beneficial, in that they enable the wearers to walk freely, and to improve their carriage. To obtain good complexions walking is all important for women. The hobble makes walking mincing and self-centred, and prevents proper exorcise. Moreover, the faster and more congested the city traffic the greater the danger to hobbled women.
