MISS AMY CASTLES.

Miss Amy Castles has completely recovered from the chill that necessitated the postponement of her concerts in Burns Hall. To-night Miss Castles and her assisting artists will give the first concert of the series. The season is limited to three concerts, and programmes of absorbing interest have been arranged for each night. On the opening' night Miss Amy Castles will sing “The Mad Scene" from “Hamlet." The Auckland Star said: “This great scena embraces every kind of style for a soprano, and is of an exacting nature. Difficult as it is, one listening to the cantatrice felt that intricacies in vocalisation and dramatic singing were nothing to the _ artist’s allconquering powers.” “Eili, Eili," a Jewish lament, and the wonderful'“Octopus Song," from “Iris," and many new and old ballads, with harp accompaniments, will also be on Miss Castles first programme. Miss Eileen Castles will sing “The Jewish Song" (Faust) antT "‘The Waltz Song” (Romeo and Juliet), and other favourite old melodies. Alberto Torzillo and Charles Tuckwell will add harp and piano solos to the programme. Box plans arc at the Bristol and day sales at S. Jacobs’s. Students may book at halfprice. ,
