Munro, who has won Australasian honours, and may go to the next Olympic Games, was in the first heat. After half a lap had been ridden Munro and Humphries, another competitor, were jostling each other, and this continued until both were hopelessly out of the race. They continued pushing at each other as they rode along and immediately they dismounted both riders were disqualified for the day. This did not end matters, _ and Munro and Humphries resumed their argument a few feet away from the officials. Thousands of persons who packed the arena witnessed a willing box on with bare fists.
