DRUG HABIT VICTIMS
PALATIAL SANATORIUM. LONDON, August 11. The Rev. W. Hodge, of Melbourne, accompanied by leading members of Parliament, London social workers, and doctors, has just paid a visit to Rendlesham Hall, in Suffolk, formerly the ancestral home of . Lord Rendlesham. This stately old mansion has been purchased by a London syndicate of social reformers, who have converted it into a sanatorium for inebriates and victims of the drug habit. Patients belonging to the , highest social circles in England are recommended thither by , eminent doctors. The hall is surrounded by a park of 500 acres and magnificent gardens, tended by 10 gardeners. “It is a wonderful place, full of palatial rooms, ./beautifully furnished,” said Mr Hodge. * “I saw many of’ the patients, who were both wealthy and, cultured, and included several titled ladies.”:
