AN INTERESTING VISITOR.
Coming to Dunedin is an interesting visitor in Miss Dingman, who on Thursday will commence a series of meetings at the Y.W.C.A. Miss Dingman, who is also associated with many other international societies, is prominently connected with the Y.W.C.A. She was originally industrial secretary in the North-eastern Y.W.C.A. field in the United States. During the war she was sent to France to organise the Blue Triangle work for the French munition girls, opening “Foyer de s Allies” in many centres. This became part of a community movement, and before Miss Dingman left J: ranee she had established the Blue Triangle under local French committees. After tho world’s commission at Champery she was appointed industrial secretary to (he World's Y.W.C.A. Since then she has travelled extensively in Europe and Asia, and wonderful work has been done by her. Within two years in China she and Miss Harrison were able to get splendid support for a platform of industrial legislation to protect women workers, and tho Chinese Government, in consequence, is creating a Department of Labour and Industry, and is bringing legislation to limit the working clay, to abolish child labour, and to make reasonable conditions for women workers.
