BURGLARS AT WORK.

ACTIVITY IN AUCKLAND. CASH AND CHEQUKo STOLEN. (Per United Press' Association.) AUCKLAND. August 27. The warehouse of H. E. Partridge and Co. wn a burglariously entered between Saturday and this morning. The outer and inner safes were broken open, and cash and some cheques were stolen. Safe breakers broke into the premises of the Auckland Bottle Co. (Ltd.), in Stanley street, and an attempt was made to blow open the safe with explosives. A shot had been fired, but they were not successful in bursting the safe open, although considerable damage was done to it. Nothing was reported missing from the premises.
