HIBERNIANS

The St. Joseph’s branch, No. 75, of H.A.C.8.5.. held its usual fortnightly meeting in St. Joseph’s Hall, Rattray street, on August 21. The president, Mr J. J. Marlow ; jun,, presided over the meeting. The visitors to the sick, Bros. A. Hanley, A. Borland, and J. Hughes, having furnished their report, the sick accounts were passed for payment. Two new members were elected, and thre© were proposed for membership. The president then closed the meeting, after which all present participated in a card tournament. The first prize was won by Bro. D. Crichton, Bro. P. Walsh, PP., being second. The fortnightly meeting of the St. Patrick’s branch of the H.A.C.8.5.,. No. 643, was held in St. Patrick’s Schoolroom, South Dunedin, on August 22. The president, Bro. F. Mullin, presided over a largo gathering of members. The visitors to jhe sick having made their report, sick Accounts were passed for payment. After the business of the meeting was concluded all members took part in a question debate. The prize was won by Bro. J. T. Kerr. V.P. The president moved a vote of thanks to tho Social Committee for the splendid manner in which they catered for the enjoyment of members. Bro. F. MTlroy, P.P., seconded the motion, which was carried.
