SALE OF WORK.

A sale of work was held yesterday afternoon in Knox Church Humbly .school under the auspices of the Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union. The sale was organised by (lie Dunedin and Dnnstan Presbyteries, and had for its object the providing of a bursary for deaconess in the missionary training college, and to assist the Maori Hoys’ College at AVniinana. The stalls contained a. large assortment of Hwatow embroideries, filot and other laees, Pekinese cloissione. Canton carved ivories, cake, produce, sweets, (lowers, and a variety of work of other doscriptinns. Mrs llewilson, president of the committee, introduced Miss Moore, H.A., - of iclumg (China), who impressed upon those present that I hey would not only be Inlying beautiful articles, but would be assisting the girls and women of Chinn. She also made reference to Ihe conditions under which the work olferod for sale was made, ’the stalls were presided over by the members of the different branches of the union, and the articles met with a ready sale, the tables being pretty well cleared at Hie conclusion of the afternoon.
