FIRE AT TE AWAMUTU.
BUSINESS PREMISES GUTTED. (P zm United Press Association.) TE AWAMUTU, July 50. Shortly after 5 o’clock this evening a fire, was discovered in the business premises occupied by Mr Henderson, tailor, and owned by the municipality. Tho fire brigade was quickly on the scene, and prevented the fire from spreading to the adjoining premises. Henderson's shop was gutted, but some of the contents were saved. The adjoining office had just been vacated to-day. The origin of the outbreak is unknown. The premises and stock were insured, but the amount was not available. A fireman named Flicker sustained severe cuts on the arms by falling through the roof of a lean-to at the back.
