ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

(Pun United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 30. While practising Association footbajl at Devonport yesterday James Alexander Putman, aged 50, collided with another player, their heads striking forcibly. Both men were knocked out. Putman recovered sufficiently to walk home, when a doctor was called in and ordered his removal to tho hospital. An operation was performed, but death supervened during the evening Putman served for nearly four years at the front.
