DOOMED WOMEN
FACING ELECTRIC CHAIR. STUDY IN CONTRASTS. NEW YORK, July 11. Anna Buzz!, a Russian woman, has been sentenced to death in the electric chair in August for the murder of Frederic Schneider. She had been the murdered man’s mistress. Buzzi appears to regard uer approaching doom with the importurbilitv of a stoic, and jokes merrily with visitors to the prison. Hitherto only two women have yet been electrocuted in the Slate of New York. Very different was tho attitude of Mrs Crudello, who has been sentenced, together with her husband, to be hanged for the murder of her first husband. She completely col’apsed on hearing the sentence. The woman was convicted chiefly on the evidence of her 17-year-old son. She is the first woman to receive such a sentence at Chicago for 25 years.
