. MOSCOW, July 15. On the charge of murdering Dyokonoff in a duel, Tertoft was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment. Nina Mochevilli, iho stage beauty over whom the men quarrelled, was acquitted of the charge of complicity. —A. and N.Z. Cable. A London message dated July 6 stated: «As a sequel to the first duel since the revolution, Tertoff, an officer in the Red army, and Nina Mochevilli, a well-known stage beauty, were charged with murderinn Dvokonoff, an officer belonging to the Military Academy. The prosecution demanded death sentences. The trial is the result of a pistol duel, which was foug’ in the park at Moscow at dawn, the victor being promised the hand of Mochcvilli. The officers,, who were old friends in the same regiment, kissed each other on the cheeks according to the Russian custom, and then fired. Dyonokoff warmer tally wounded. The girl, who witnessed the duel, rushed forward and held the dying officer in her arms. The prosecutor’s demand for the extreme penalty weis cluQ to the fear that th© will revert to the Czarist custom of duelling.’’

MARSHAL PILSUDSKI INVOLVED
LONDON, July 5. Marshal Pilsudski, head of the Polish army, and General Szeptyski, Polish Minister of War, fought a bloodless duel, says the. Warsaw correspondent of The Times. - The quarrel arose over the marshal s criticism of the latter as Minister.
