Lieutenant Baker will leave Branco in the summer of 1924 to establish headquarters in the north of Spitzbergen, from which ho will attempt to fly to the North Pole. He believes that he can cover the return flight of 1437 miles in 21 hours. Four biplanes will be taken, two for flight and two to be ready at the base to assist the fliers if summoned. All will be equipped with wireless. CAPTAIN AMUNDSEN RETURNING. CHRISTIANIA, June 21. The Aftenpost states tlrat Captain Amundsen is returning by the schooner Holmes, and does not intend to seek the schooner Maud.—A. and N-Z. Cable.
