DUNEDIN STARR-BOWKETT SOCIETY.
Tlio divectors of the Dunedin StarrBowkett Building' Society, in their twentyseventh annual report and statement of accounts, report that the society occupies a highly satisfactory position. In the No, 2 group two further dividends were paid during the year, one of £3 and one of £1 10s. The directors trust that the final disposition will bo made this year. During the year 13 appropriations were made in the No. 5 group. Tile shares current which participate in the profits number 882. The shares current in the No. 4 group are 1777. lufty-eight shares wore taken up during the year, throe wore cancelled, and 194 with drawn. The list in this group is to bo finally closed on December 3 next. The first payment in the No. 5 group was made on August 21 last. The share list now stands at 1530. Seven appropriations have been disposed of since its inauguration. The success attending the flotation of this group warrants the directors in again impressing on shareholders the advisability of doing their part in adding to the share list by introducing their friends. The directors regret that notice of (he tennney of office being terminated ns from June 30 has been received. Shareholders will lie advised bv advertisement when arrangements for other quarters have been made, and it. is not unlikely that fhev will bo in the vicinity of the present office. The directors again express their appreciation of the services rendered to the society by the. secretary (Mr J. A. llopcraft) and bis staff’. The retiring directors are Messrs T. ,T. Walker gnd (i. T. Scones, the retiring auditor Mr James Brown. All lining eligible for reelection, offer themselves accordingly.
