In reply to a question by the Leader of the Opposition as to what business would be taken on Mondays, the j/rime Minister said it was his intention to -o on with the no-oonfidence debate until it was finished. After that he would set up the sessional committees. Later the Prime Minister moved, and it was agreed to, that the House sit on Mondays at 7.30 p.m. for the transaction of Government business. Mr Wilford asked if members would be given an opportunity of speaking on thd second readhigs of the Bills they introduced. Private members, he _ said, should have the opportunity of speaking on those subjects that were dear to their hearts and, as later on the' Government would take away Wednesdays, they might not get this opportunity. Mr Massey said he had always stood up for the rights of private members. He could not say when the present debate would come to an end, but when it did he would be ready with the Financial Statement, which ho proposed to bring on in the ordinary way, taking the debate on it as soon afterwards as possible. He would not go on with any oTass of Estimates until the report of the department concerned' waa available. He would also give private members an opportunity of speaking on their Bills. Unless something came in the way they would get just as much time als usual.
