MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Thursday, June 21 (Before Mr J. 11. Bartholomew, S.M.) Judgment was given for plaintiffs in following undefended cases;—Brown, Ewing, and Co, v. Stanley Chapman (Timaru), £1 12 s , balance for goods (costs 245); Chas. Thomas v Oliver M'Arley, £1 5s for goods (costs 8s); \V. Butcher v. W. Taylor, £2 7s 3d for coal (costs 8s): Robert Balloch v. Frederick Robertson (Clinton), £7 IDs 4d for produce supplied (costs £1 10s Bd). Frederick Wm. King claimed from John Gale (Bay View road) £l2, balance for tho purchase money of a horse* —Mr \Vhite ap* peared for plaintiff.—Defendant having mentioned that he had paid the wrong man evidence was given by plaintiff, at the conclusion of which, owing to the absence of a witness called on behalf of plaintiff, the case was adjourned for a week.
