BUILDING WORKERS' DISPUTE.

A PARTIAL AGREEMENT. (Pee United Press Association.) ~ WELLINGTON, Alay 31. At the Conciliation proceedings regarding the building workers’ dispute the assessors condemned the employers’ propose* with regard to adults, apprentices, and improvers. The employers, agreed to drop the proposals. A discussion ensued on _ the basis of the present awards in the various centres, and minor alterations were made. In consequence of the intention of the Government to bring down a Bill regarding apprentices it was agreed that the employers and employees hold a conference at a future date to draft conditions regarding apprentices. A difference ,of opinion was expressed regarding piece work, and it . was decided to refer the matter to the court. It was also decided to refer the preference question to the court. The hours in the old award were retained—namely, 8 a.m.vto 5 p.m. for the first five days in the. week, and four hours on .Saturday.
