The local man asked for a quote, wliich was supplied at 48s per dozen wholesale. He then invited the traveller to wait for a few minutes while he produced a document direct from Home, and'pointing to the identical illustration of the sample of the knives before him, informed the traveller that tho retail price of these at Homo was 12s per half dozen. About 20 gentlemen met in the Soldiers' Club at New Plymiuth to consider the advisability of forming a troop of Sea Scouts at New Plymouth (reports the Taranaki Daily News). Brigadier-general A. W. Andrew outlined the scheme, embodying in his remarks much useful information regarding the organisation, and suggestions for the moral and physical welfare of 'the boys. "As soon as I have consulted with responsible officers on H.M.S. _ Philomel," said General Andrew, "it is intended to issue a pamphlet setting forth in .full tho rules and regulations ror Dominion Sea Scouts." It was finally decided that a small committee be formed to make preliminary arrangements and to organise a New Plymouth troop of Sea Scouts.
