WINTER SHOW.
The Otaifo A. and P. Society’s buildings presented an exceptionally busy appearance yesterday morning, when a large number of men 'wefts employed in cleaning up tho place and fixing the necessary tables for tho display of exhibits. The arrangements tor carrying out the necessary erection of stands are again placed in Ihe hands' of Mr J. Sutton, who has had charge of this for a large number of years. Whilst it is recognised that the • King’s Birthday will somewhat alTect the carrying out of all the necessary details required, Mr Sutton anticipates no difficulty so far , as ho is concerned in.getting the building ready to receive exhibits before the end of the. week. The Hon. W. Nosworthy (Minister of Agriculture) and the Kon. W. Downie Stewart have notified tho committee that they will both be present at the show. Unfortunately this year His Majesty’s Theatre is engaged, and cannot bs utilised for the opening ceremony. The committee, however, have arranged that this will take place in the Victoria Hall on Tuesday afternoon, June 5, at 2 o’clock. This portion of the building lias in previous years been used for that purpose.
