MR M’KENNA INVITED TO exchequer. MINOR OFFICES RESHUFFLED. LONDON, May 26. (Received May 2/, at 0.6 p.m.) The official list of Mr Baldwin s Ministry was issued last mgnt. The moat, notable change was tnat Mr M'Kenna \yas invited to taxe over the Exchequer, but could not accept immediately as -ce is still recovering from serious illness. He is expected to assume office two or, three niontns nence. The main offices are un changed. Sir W. Joynson Hicks becomes Financial Secretary to the Treasury. Ihere are some reshuffles among the minor offices. Air J. C. C. Davidson takes over the Chancellorship of tiie Duchy of Lancaster; Major Boyd-Carpen-ter becomes Paymaster-general; Air I’’. O. Thomson, Solicitor-General for Scotland ; Air Godfrey Locker-Lampson, Under-secretary to the Home Office; Mr R. S. Gwynne, Financial Secretary lor the War Office; Mr H. B. Betterton, Lora Eustace Percy, Mr Charles Craig, ,and Lord Onslow, Parliamentary Secretaries for Labour, Health, Pensions, and Education respectively. Mr J. R. J. Hennessey, Mr W. Cope, and Mr R. J. Ford are all the' new Lord Commissioners to the Treasury. Sir L. Worthington-Evans declined the Postmaster-generalship.—A. and N.Z._ Cable. THE NEW PRIAIE AIINISTER. MR BONAR LAW IMPROVING. LONDON, Alay 27. (Received Alay 27, at 11.5 p.m.) The Prime Minister, Mr Stanley Baldwin, had a conference with Mr Austen Chamberlain lasting for two hours at Chequers. The Sunday Express understands that Mr Chamberlain was offered the Ambassadorship at Washington, butdeclined. He had declined; a similar proposal through Lord Curzon during the Bonar Law administration. Mr Baldwin has followed Air Lloyd George’s example in having a woman secretary, Miss Weston, who, during the war, was secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Mr Bonar Law was able to-day to take a motor tour into the country.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
