GREEN ISLAND AND CAVER SHAM POLL. The polling for two members to represent the district of Green Island and Caversham in the Provincial Council took place yesterday at the 'school-houses in the villages named. It will bo remembered that at ,the nomination six candidates were proposed; but yesterday morning, before , the voting commenced, Messrs John Sibbald and H. F. Hardy intimated to John Gillies. Esq., the Returning Urficcr, that they had resigned. This left the contest between Messrs George Lloyd, John Blair, James M'Glashan, and William Martin. Shortly before live o’clock the Returning Officer declared the number of votes given for each candidate to be — Caversham. Green Island. Total.
