SALE OF WORK. : c Up-to-date methods of ventilation were \ recently introduced at the Arthur Street ' School, and this had the effect of necessitating the provision of further equipment in some of the changed classrooms. .With the object of , raising funds for this purpose a ba'zaar was opened in the school gymnasium yesterday 'afternoon by the chairman of the Otago Education Board, Mr J. Wallace, Mr C. Speight, chairman of the school committee, presiding. A wide range was covered by the , good which were for sale, and the business transacted was very satisfactory. There is also premise of further successful business to-day and this evening. On the stalls were included plain and fancy work, dolls, sweets, cakes, flowers, books, and produce, and everywhere the result of careful organisation was . ap- * parent. , The stalls were in charge of the following; Work Stall—Mrs Speight, Mrs Moore, Mrs Curtis, Mrs Duff, Mrs Callan, Mrs MT/esm, Mrs Sellars, Mrs Boss. Miss Wilson, Mjsa Hunt, and Miss French. Flower Stall— Mr Bringans and Mrs Bringans. Children’s Stall—Mrs Falconer, Misses McPherson, James, and Falconer. Bran Tub (boys) —Mr Botting; girls—Mrs Shepherd, Mias J. Shepherd. Cake Stall—Mrs Irvine, Mrs Sourr, Mrs Beath, Mrs Turnbull, Mrs Brown. Produce Stall—Mrs Dance, Miss Callan, Mrs Williams, and Mis ■J. Reid. Sweets Stall—Mrs W. G. Hay, Mrs Dick, Mm Richmond, Miss Pilkington, and Miss Orkney. Tea Rooms—Mrs Lockhart, Mrs Weir, Mrs Cole, Mrs Cook, Mrs Millar, aid Mrs Smith. Jumble Stall—'Mrs J. Logan, Mrs Dawson, Mrs Morrison, and Mr Dixon. Book Stall, Mr Hawke.
