In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,” and “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920.” and all other powers (if any) enabling the Council in that behalf. PURSUANT to the Provisions of the ahovo-rccitcd Acts, PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Dunedin City Council proposes to borrow, by way of a Special Loan, within the meaning of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,” the sum of NINETY THOUSAND POUNDS (£90,000) under the conditions and for the purpose hereinafter appearing—that is to say. , (a) The particular purpose of the proposed loan is to erect a Town Hall, and equip the same with organ, piano, and all necessary furnishings. (b) The sum proposed to bo borrowed for such purpose is Ninety Thousand Pounds (£90,000). ‘ (c) It is proposed to pledge as the security for the lean and the interest and other charges thereon a Special Rate of Twopence (2d) in the Pound <£) on the rateable value of all rateable property within the City of Dunedin. The loan to be repaid in full at the expiration of a term of 25 years from the Ist day of October, 1924, and a Sinking Fund of one per centum per annum will be provided towards such repayment. The debentures issued in respect of the loan shall bear interest at a rale not exceeding per centum per annum (or such other rate as may bo lawfully prescribed). (d) it is proposed to pay out of ‘the loan the cost, of raising the loan, and the interest and sinking fund thereon for the first year of the said loan. G. A. LEWJN, Town Clerk.
