NEW TRADE OF' BAHAMAS. LONDON, April 28. An amazing increase in the liquor imports of the Bahamas was revealed in the House of Commons. It was stated that in 1918, the value of wino imported was £8675, and the value of spirits imported was £6370. In 1922, the value of wine imports had amounted to £27,260, and of spirits to over £1,000,000. Tire Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies (Major Ormsby-Gore), on being questioned regarding this abnormal increase, said that practically the whole of it was attributable to prohibition in the United States.
