GERMAN FINANCE
REPAYMENT OF MORTGAGES. Presa Association—By Telegraph—Copyright BERLIN, May 6. (Received May 7, at 5.5 p.m.) The High Court at Darmstadt has given an important decision that a mortgagee is not obliged to accept paper marks in repayment of a mortgage loan made in gold marks. The decision strikes at the basis of the whole of the German currency system, as the State and all other debts have hitherto been payable in paper marks. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
