INQUEST

Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., sitting as coroner, conducted an inquiry yesterday morning into the circumstances surrounding the death of Archibald Thomson, aged 76 years, who died suddenly on Sunday morning. Sergeant Shanahan represented tho police. Tho evidence showed that deceased, who had been in good health up till Sunday, w r ent into the fowl-run about 9 a.in. on Sunday to feed the fowls, and, on his neice, Miss Notta Thomson, going out about 11 a.m. she found him lying on his side in the fowl-run. She called in Mr Robert Grawshaw. a neighbour, and the police were notified.—Dr Gerald Fitzgerald, who was called in, could only pronounce life to be extinct.

Evidence was given by Netta • Thomson, Robert Cmwshaw. and Dr G. Fitzgerald. The medical evidence showed that death was due to hert failure through valvular disease.—The Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony.
