TACTLESS DISPLAY OF CANE.

CROYDON SCHOOL STRIKE.

LONDON, April-23. School children are joyfully supporting the strike of teachers in the Croydon district. New teachers, when installed* were greeted with cries of Blackleg and the disorder that broke out waa reminiscent of the revolt at Dotheooya* Hall, in “Nicholas Nickleby.” When one of the teachers threatened to use a cane he was mobbed by the pupils and pelted with books. The police had to be called in to restore order.
