At t.ho annual meeting of the Canterbury Fruitgrowers’ Association Mr J. Long-ton stated that ho noticed this season’s crops had been fairly plentiful, but he also noted the fact that Jonathan apples were marked up in the retail fruiterers’ shops at 6d per lb. This price was altogether too hl’gh, he contender], and it damaged the retailer, the consumer, and the producer.
